The basics
These terms cover this website and the work we do for you. By booking a call, hiring us, or using this site, you agree to them. If something here does not sit right, talk to us before we start — we would rather fix it up front.
What we do
We design and build a custom authority website — a roughly 200-page WordPress site built to rank on Google and Bing and get cited by AI engines — then host and maintain it for you. The full scope of what is included is laid out on our pricing page.
What it costs
- $1,000 once to build the site. Due before we start the build.
- $199 per month for hosting, security, maintenance, fresh answer pages, and monitoring. Billed monthly, starting at launch.
No setup fees, no per-page charges, no surprise invoices. If our pricing ever changes, your rate stays the same for as long as you keep your plan.
The guarantees
We put the foundation in writing:
- Found fast. At least 70% of your pages live in Google and Bing within 14 days of launch — or we keep working at no charge until they are.
- Fast site. 95+ PageSpeed on mobile and desktop, or we refund the $1,000 build fee.
- No lock-in. No contracts. Cancel the monthly plan whenever you like and keep the site.
These promises assume you give us what we need on time — content, access, and timely sign-off. If a delay is on your side, the clock pauses until we are unblocked.
Cancelling and owning your site
Cancel the $199/mo plan any time, no penalty. When you do, the monthly service — hosting, maintenance, new pages, monitoring — stops at the end of your current billing period. The site itself is yours: you have full WordPress admin from day one and can move it to your own hosting whenever you want. We are happy to help you migrate.
Build fees already paid are not refundable except under the PageSpeed guarantee above. Monthly fees already paid are not pro-rated.
What we need from you
- Accurate business details, and the rights to any content, logos, or images you hand us.
- Timely answers and access so we can hit the timeline.
- Use of the site for lawful business only — no spam, no illegal content.
Who owns what
Once the build is paid for, the site and its content are yours. The underlying systems, frameworks, and know-how we use to build it stay ours — you own your site, not our toolbox. Content you give us stays yours; you just let us use it to build and run the site.
Things we can't promise
We build the strongest foundation in your market and stand behind the guarantees above. But search engines and AI engines change their own rules, and rankings, traffic, and revenue depend on factors outside our control. Beyond the specific guarantees, we cannot promise a particular ranking, traffic level, or sales figure. The service is provided as-is.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything connected to the service is capped at what you paid us in the three months before the issue came up. We are not liable for indirect or knock-on losses like lost profits or lost data, though we work hard to make sure none of that happens.
Third-party services
Your site relies on tools we do not own — hosting, scheduling, and the search and AI engines themselves. When one of them has an outage or changes its terms, we deal with it quickly, but their behaviour is not something we control or warrant.
Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, the new version goes here with a fresh date at the top. If you keep using the service after a change, that counts as agreeing to it.
Which laws apply
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Hire Better Nerds operates. If we ever disagree, we will try to sort it out directly and in good faith before anything formal.
